strength

There is an incredible strength in you
You do not even realize it is there, but it is
You draw upon it when you need it most
And it comes as natural as breathing
This strength will surprise you
As it rushes in and takes over

And when you feel weak
Unable to draw upon that strength
Others will rush in and hold you
They will be beside you
Holding your hand and listening to your fears
They will provide the strength you need to make it through

Life is not always easy
It is love that will get you through
When you don't know where to turn
You must lean deeply into those that love you
Feeling their strength
And allowing them to carry what you can no longer hold

moments

It is all about the moments
The small sliver in time when there is a smile
A laugh
A memory shared
These are the moments you tuck into your pocket
Hold on tight to and savor

castle in the woods

Deep in the woods there is remnants of a hidden castle
Pieces left behind leaving those who pass it to wonder what was
A mystery of stone
It is grand and elusive
Tucked away on top of a large mountain
It was a wonder to find
Reminding me of the strength of humanity
Leaving it's mark long after they are gone
Memories tucked into the stone
Stories shared
A lifetime lived right here in this woods

time

Time is a funny thing
It moves too fast
Or too slow
We struggle to find the happy medium
Of time moving just right
We never seem to have enough of it
and we are in a constant stat of rushing
To make it somewhere, just in time
At work the minutes tick by in a slow and steady drag
On vacation if feels as if time rushes past in the blink of an eye
We think we have to wait for the perfect moment
To begin a dream
Chase after a desire
Share our love with another
We have a constant eye on the clock
Watching it, analyzing, but never truly appreciating it

But here is the thing
There is no need to watch and wait
You just need to keep going
You need to chase your dreams
Find what lights you up
Go wildly into the unknown
Explore and savor
Seek and find
You need to never give up
Push yourself forward
Reach for your edges
Leap and risk
Time will always find a way to catch up with you
So don't wait for it
Just keep going

choose love

Why
Because there is so much love
And even when life hands you the hardest thing ever
You have to lean on love
Why
Because that is all there is
And that is what is most important
Love
Yes love
It always comes back to love
Because when we don't know what to do
We choose love
We lean deep into it
And we just feel it
Because that is all we can do
So we do it

this moment

This moment
When the sun is shining
The air is warm
Laughter fills the space
We walk hand in hand around the lake
We dream up future ideas
Reminisce about the past
Soak in each others love
We have no idea what is about to come
We have no idea that in a few short days our lives will change forever
But it does
And in a state of shock we stand
Unsure of the future
Plowing full steam ahead
Searching for answers
Making call after call
Not giving up, ever
Because we are in this moment
And we want it to last forever
So we fight the fight
Stand along side one another
Breathe in the fresh air
And keep stepping forward
