the energy I carry

alter

The energy I carry has the ability to light up a room or cloak it with darkness. I know, I know that’s hard to believe. How could I have so much influence? How you ask? Because you are human. With a beating heart, and an aura of energy that follows you.

When you light up with joy and glee others feel that. And when you come in arms crossed, defiant, not wanting to play nice in the sandbox others feel that as well.

Just think about "you know who" and the way he points the room with his arrogance even through the computer screen.

Know that your gentle tone has the ability to calm and ground others. Know that you don't have to show up as anyone but yourself. Your energy is unique to you. It will ebb and flow with your mood and experiences. Sometimes you will be open and joyful and other times a little more closed off.

Be gentle with yourself. Know you aren’t alone. You have a community of love and grace surrounding you. Holding your energy when you are too tired to go at it alone.

when I listen

writing prompt

When I listen I hear the sound of my own inner knowing guiding me on my journey.
It encourages me to keep stepping forward.
Take a leap into the great unknown and find myself along the way.

When I listen I hear the cheers and support of those around me.
They hold my hand and walk beside me
Lift me up when I am struggling and remind me that I am never alone
They are my steady shore when the waves are crashing.

When I listen I hear all the things that I am discovering.
That love prevails
Kindness is essential
It’s important to listen, but also to open up and share.

When I listen I find my way
My way back to myself
Where I can begin again and again
Because I’m strong, brave & fierce.
And my own inner knowing will guide me to where I’m meant to travel

When I listen I’m open to the unknown path in front of me

today I

beach retreat

Today I look out the window and see the vast expanse of the ocean as the sun glistens down forming specs of glitter on the crashing waves.

I hear the sound of laughter and deep conversation happening on the front porch and the clinking in the kitchen from someone making themselves a cup of tea.

In a few moments, we will all be gathering in the living room to read poetry, write, share and connect.

But in this moment I pause

I have arrived. Right where I have been dreaming of being. Together with a community of individuals to spend a few days away.

To rest. To retreat. To play. Laugh. Dance. Create. Unravel. And connect.

This dream brewed inside my heart for so long, but today it is no longer a dream but memories being created. joy unfurling and love swirling.

Today I stand in gratitude. For not giving up. For following my heart. Anf for the radiant souls that trusted me and have arrived here.

Today I am blessed.

i discovered

Blog Post Image.png

I discovered that there is joy in the small pieces
The scraps left on the floor
Become a nose for a teddy bear
A piece of foam can become a mattress for the box that is turning into a bed
Nothing is wasted
It was one once thing
And can then become another
With eyes open to wonder
We can breathe a second life into
A piece of ribbon
A paper clip
A dried-out marker
What joy to discover
That there is so much more than what meets the eye
When we lean in without expectations
Without plans
But only the openness to discover what could be

what's next on my list

What’s next on my list is what I want to do in February
Ides, thoughts, dreams
All of it bubbling to the surface
The list is long
It’s filled with lot’s of to do’s and so little self-care

As I look it over the overwhelm set’s in
I like to think I’m superhuman
But I also like to take naps on the couch, read books, go for walks
Scheduling so many to do’s per day
Leaves so little time for that

And so I’m clearing my list
Putting me on top
A pair of fuzzy slippers
A warm blanket
Cozying up by the fireplace
With no expectation of doing or accomplishing
Just breathing
Just being

What a gift
To drop it all
Pick up only what I need
And know that is enough
Yes. It is enough

let's walk side by side

I sat alone on my front porch, longing to have someone sit beside me
Someone I could chat with, laugh with
Simply just be with
But it was just me
Soaking in the warm sunshine
Admiring the beauty of the day
Feeling the ache in my heart grow larger and larger
I knew this feeling well
This feeling of longing
Of wanting something, but not sure how or where to find it

I wanted community
Connection
People I could call on when things were tough
When they were so good it was time to celebrate
And also to just sit beside me on the front porch
A feeling of knowing I wasn’t alone on this crazy journey
A hand I could reach out to
And also the opportunity to reach out my own hand to help others

Have you felt this?
This longing for wanting to be with others?
This need for connection but turning up empty-handed every time

I was tired of this longing and knew deep in my heart that if I felt this way,
There had to be others like me
And so I took action
Plugging away at creating what I needed
Carving out a little place of love
Where we can all show up and shine our light
Because we need each other
And we can do so much more when we come together

Come on by to the Soul Circle Community
A little space on the web where you can show up just as you are
No ads, no algorithms, no-nonsense
Just love, encouragement, and kindness
A place to share what your creating, doing, unearthing
An opportunity to walk side by side with one another
Come circle
We need you there
